Common questions from Hills District
WSA is the more convenient drive — 35 minutes off-peak with $10 in M7 tolls, versus 45 minutes and $15 in tolls to SYD. If you need specific international routes not yet operating from WSA, SYD is the better choice for those trips.
You can get close. The Metro Northwest (T9) runs from Rouse Hill to Chatswood and onwards into the city — from there, you transfer to the T8 Airport Line. Total journey is around 65–75 minutes. It works, but it's not as simple as T8 suburbs.
Castle Hill and Baulkham Hills are the closest major centres — around 32 km and 35 minutes off-peak. Rouse Hill, at the northern end of the Hills, is slightly further from WSA and closer to the Metro Northwest, which makes SYD more competitive from there.
