About WestSydney.com.au

WestSydney.com.au is an independent guide to Western Sydney — the food, the day trips, the adventures, and the new airport reshaping this side of the city. We don’t work for the airport, the council, or a tourism board. We write honest guides to help travellers and locals make the most of a part of Sydney that’s long been underrated.

Why this site exists

Western Sydney International (Nancy-Bird Walton) Airport opens to passengers on 25 October 2026, and for the first time a major international gateway sits on this side of the city. Millions of travellers will arrive with no idea what’s nearby — and millions of locals already live next to places worth knowing about. We started this guide to answer both: what’s actually good, what’s worth your time, and what to skip.

How we write

Honestly. We include the caveats — the thing that gets crowded on school holidays, the walk that’s further than it looks, the price that’s gone up. We never invent reviews, ratings, or visitor numbers, and we try to cite sources for the airport facts, which change often. If we get something wrong, tell us and we’ll fix it.

How we keep the lights on

Some links on this site are affiliate links — if you book or buy through them, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. That, and display advertising, is what keeps the guide free. It never changes what we recommend. More detail is in our privacy policy.
